Project Overview

As a seasoned UI/UX designer, I was tasked with the challenging and exciting opportunity to design Hornigo, an emerging content subscription platform aiming to redefine how creators share and monetize their content. With a blank slate in front of me, my goal was to craft a platform that was not only visually appealing and easy to use but also addressed the unique needs of content creators and their subscribers.

Visual Identity

My Design Process

Research and User Analysis:
My first step was to conduct comprehensive market research and user analysis to understand the landscape and identify gaps in current platforms. This involved analyzing competitors, conducting interviews with potential users, and gathering insights on user expectations and needs.

Defining User Personas and User Journey:
From the research, I developed detailed user personas for both content creators and subscribers. This helped in mapping out user journeys for each persona, highlighting the critical paths they would take on the platform.

Sketching and Wireframing:
With a clear understanding of our users, I moved on to sketching and wireframing. This phase was all about laying out the structure of the website, focusing on usability and how users would navigate through the platform. .

Prototyping & Usability Testing:
I created interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, which were then used in usability testing sessions. Feedback from these sessions was crucial, leading to iterative designs that refined the user experience.

Visual Design & Branding:
The final step was to bring Hornigo to life with visual design. This involved choosing a color scheme, typography, and creating a unique branding that resonated with our target audience. The design had to be engaging, intuitive, and embody the platform's ethos.

Research : Qualitative Research

The objective of this user research is to gather insights into users' preferences, behaviors, and pain points when using adult content subscription platforms similar to HornyGo. By understanding users' experiences and preferences, we aim to identify areas for improvement and innovation within the platform. So we carried out some interviews, due to privacy reason, real pictures wont be used. The interview question covered aspects such as:

key Findings

Content Discovery: Users appreciate intuitive and efficient methods for discovering new content and creators.

Privacy and Security: Users prioritize the protection of their personal information and financial data when using the platform.

User Personas

In the rapidly growing market of content subscription services, Hornigo aimed to differentiate itself by offering enhanced user experiences for both content creators and subscribers, focusing on ease of use, privacy, and community engagement. The challenge was to design an intuitive and engaging platform that catered to a wide range of content creators and subscribers, emphasizing user satisfaction and retention. Hornigo stands out from the rest, as users can go on live dates with the creators.

Solution

Privacy and Security Concerns: Recognizing the sensitive nature of the content, I designed a robust privacy and security framework. This included secure login processes, encrypted data storage, and customizable privacy settings for users.

Enhancing User Engagement: To keep users engaged, I introduced interactive elements such as real live dates, direct messaging, and notifications for new content. These features encouraged active participation and community building on the platform.

Objectives

User Flow

Getting users up to speed

I designed a step by step sign up process so it feels less overwhelming for the user. We are also showing the progress to show a sense of completion after each step.

Safety and Trust Measures

I investigated the safety and privacy features implemented by competitors, such as profile management, notifications, subscriptions and safe payment system, and came up with a well crafted design for the Account section.

Narrative & Storytelling

The journey of designing Hornigo was a testament to the power of empathy in UI/UX design. By placing the needs and desires of content creators and subscribers at the heart of the design process, we were able to craft a platform that not only met but exceeded their expectations. Each design decision, from the privacy features to the engagement mechanisms, was guided by the stories and feedback of our potential users. The result was a platform that not only looked good but felt right to its users, fostering a vibrant community of content creators and their fans.

Lesson Learned

The project highlighted the importance of iterative design and user testing in creating a user-centered platform. Working closely with stakeholders and developers ensured that design decisions were feasible and aligned with business objectives. One of the main challenges was balancing the needs of content creators and subscribers, which we addressed by prioritizing features that offered value to both user groups.
